Congratulations to the Class of 2015

Hearty congratulations are extended to our BRVGS Class of 2015 graduates! It has been a rewarding four-year journey, with extensive growth, connections, and opportunities. Many of our students have confirmed college plans, including full-ride scholarships to UVA School of Nursing, University of Alabama, Duke University, and the U.S Air Force Academy. We wish all of our graduates the very best in their future endeavors, and much success along the way.  Enjoy the summer!

BRVGS Board Approves China Trip

As an update to the article below regarding the proposed BRVGS student trip to China, the BRVGS Board has approved the trip to go forward for Summer of 2016.  Interested parents and students should have received an email with instuctions for registering for the trip, but those with questions should contact BRVGS Director Marc Carraway at mcarr1@brvgs.k12.va.us, or by phone at 434-989-3972.

Seniors Share Projects at Upcoming Expositions

Twelfth graders from all member districts in the BRVGS program will showcase their year’s work at the upcoming Senior Expo. The event is set on Friday, May 15th, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Taylor Education Administration Complex in Orange.

Componants of a Senior Project requires the student to conduct research, write a research paper, develop a website, find a mentor, complete an internship, design and carry out a community service venture, make a public presentation about their project, and participate in the Senior Expo. At the exposition, students display and talk about their projects, and answer questions posed by evaluator teams.

For BRVGS Seniors unable to participate in the regular Expo day, an Alternative Expo will be held on Wednesday May 13, from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Best Western Zion Crossroads.

Both Senior Expos are open to the public.

 

BRVGS China Meeting

On Thursday, April 23rd, BRVGS held a meeting for parents and students interested in the proposed summer 2016 China trip.  Jenni Williams of EF tours explained the trip itinerary, anticipated costs, payment otions and registration process to attendees.  To see a full video of her presentation, click on BRVGS China Presentation Video.  The full video is about 55 minues long.  Specific info on trip costs, etc, come in between 35 and 35 minutes into the video.  You can also access a copy of Jenni's powerpoint by clicking on EF China PPT.

MCHS Seniors hosting Health Fair and Yard Sale!

Madison County BRVGS Seniors Ian Coppedge and Cassity Lacy will be hosting a Health Fair at MCHS on April 25th!

Additionally, their fellow Madison BRVGS Senior, Margaux Tucker, will be holding a Yard Sale to benefit Camp Unakite.  Items or monetary donations may be dropped off at the MCHS Cafeteria from 6-8pm on April 24th.  The Yard Sale will be April 25th from 8am-Noon.
