BRVGS Study Skills Session

BRVGS held a first-ever student and parent study skills session on July 25.  We had a great turnout as BRVGS staff and teachers talked about "Big-Picture" planning, how to craft a study plan, skills for reading, test preparation and writing, as well as info on the psychological side of high-stakes academics.  The Google Slide presentation, with live links to resources, can be found by clicking on "BRVGS Study Skills Presentation"

In addition, we have recorded a voice-over version of that presentation, broken down in modules that can be accessed by clicking on their titles below:

Students and parents are invited to review the above materials, and are recommended to craft a Parent/Student Study Plan together.  A copy of a Study Plan Template can be found be clicking on BRVGS Parent/Student Study Plan

BRVGS plans to offer more parent information sessions in the upcoming year.  Please contact BRVGS Director Marc Carraway at mcarraway@brvgs.k12.va.us with any questions or comments, and thanks to everyone who came out for the session on the 25th.

BRVGS/WMHS Student Athletes Shine!

The month of April saw not one, but two Blue Ridge Virtual Governor's School seniors at William Monroe High School featured as CBS 19's Airflow Student Athlete of the Week.  Olivia Binggeli was featured the first week of April and Molly Earle was featured in the last week of April.  Both of these well-rounded students are successful students, leaders and athletes, and have both recently completed a demanding senior internship, research and community service project in BRVGS.  We are very proud of these young ladies, and of all of our students who excel in extracurricular activities!  To see Molly and Olivia's stories, click on:
