William Monroe AP Bio class visited UVa Chemistry lab and got a closeup look at an ongoing project to create a portable, easy-to-use DNA typing machine. The project is a joint effort between UVa and the US Dept of Defense, and involves collaboration of biochemists and engineers. Students were able to talk directly with researchers and to see the prototypes of equipment being printed with 3D printers in the lab.

Fluvanna 10th Graders Have Visitors
A UVA Biology Professor, Mr. Butch Brodie, come to Fluvanna County High School 10th grade AP Biology class. He spoke on coevolution of snakes and newts. He also brought friends for the students to meet.
BRVGS Students Take Part in Tech Tour
BRVGS Computer Science students took part in the Charlottesville area Tech Tour on October 10th. Students visited a wide variety of technology-based industries, including everything from health care and recycling to data storage and clean energy businesses. BRVGS Application Now Available
The application for entry in the BRVGS 9th grade class in the 2018-19 school year is now available. For a downloadable copy in Microsoft Word, please click on "Admissions" and then on "Application" in the navigation bar at the top of this page. Applications are also available through middle school counseling centers and will be available at local parent information meetings.
