Message to BRVGS Community about School Closure

Dear BRVGS Students and Parents,

As you are no doubt aware, the closure of Virginia school for the next two weeks will affect BRVGS instructional activities. Many of our students have culminating projects and presentations due in the upcoming week, and many of our students participate in online classes through BRVGS.

We want to assure students and parents that we understand that this is a difficult situation for all, and it is our intention to do everything we possibly can to support students with the information and technological resources they might need, to understand the circumstances that might affect their ability to complete school assignments, and to be flexible with work expectations as needed.

We are also aware that not all BRVGS parents and students have reliable internet access.  For those that do, we ask our students to check their BRVGS email accounts regularly for information on current classes.  We will also be sending out targeted emails and all calls to parents to supplement materials, etc., that have been sent home.

For our students in online BRVGS courses, we are working with instructors to work out how best to move forward with classes, particularly for those students who have limited internet access, and will be in touch with those students as soon as possible with information on how best to proceed.  Students who are in our current online courses and who do have robust internet connection should continue to work in those classes

We will be sending out more information for all classes as we make our own adjustments.  Please feel free to contact BRVGS Director Marc Carraway at mcarraway@brvgs.k12.va.us or by phone at 434-989-3972 with any questions or concerns you might have.  Thanks for your support of BRVGS, and take care -
