Welcome to the NEW BRVGS Site!

We have updated our site to make it more accessible to students, staff, administrators, parents, and visitors on both desktop and mobile devices!  Student and staff can access all their email and other "login needed" resources by clicking on the   icon above.  All current projects, including the senior resource site, and student work can be found under the Academics menu.  Websites that will aid students in research, writing, presenting, and technology help can be found under the Resources menu. Additionally anyone can subscribe to the BRVGS Facebook and Twitter Fan pages to find out what's happening in and around BRVGS.  Hope you enjoy the new look!

Shoes for Service

When it comes to community service, BRVGS seniors take on a wide variety of ways to help people.  For two of our seniors, service means providing people with shoes.  Seniors Justin Barden of Orange and Rachel Yowell of Madison each independently undertook "shoe drives" as the community service compenent of their BRVGS senior project.  Rachel completed her service in the fall semester by collecting over 300 pairs (as well as enough money to ship them off).  Justin was featured on NBC 29 for his efforts to get shoes to people in need.  His story can be seen by clicking on "Leaving a Footprint: Orange County Student Helps Community." We are very proud of these students and of all of our seniors' efforts in support of their communities! (photo courtesy of NBC 29)

Welcome Back, Louisa County!

BRVGS wishes the students and staff of Louisa County High School a great start to the rest of the school year as they move into their new modular high school.  LCHS students have been sharing space with Louisa Middle School for three days a week since last fall's earthquake.  The move to to the new space will allow the school to resume a more regular 5-day per week schedule, so this is a big step forward for their recovery.  Best of luck to LCHS for the remainder of the year in your new space!

Free Concert at Brightwood Store!

As part of one of our BRVGS Senior Projects, the Brightwood General Store in Madison County is having a free concert to provide a fundraising opportunity for their new coffee shop, as well as to spark enthusiasm for local music within our community. It will be held on Saturday, January 14 from 4PM-11PM. There will be a bake sale as well as an opportunity for members of our community to donate and help create an artistic hub right here in Madison County. It is a very casual event, and fun for all ages.  Contact the Brightwood General Store at (540) 543-2100 or Molly Brumfield atmbrumfield@brvgs.k12.va.us for more information.
